Indications

Medela SpecialNeeds Feeder is recommended to support the oral feeding of babies with special needs. It is intended for feeding babies breast milk and other liquids with a similar consistency.

Properties

The teat of the Medela SpecialNeeds Feeder has the following characteristics:
- designed to allow the baby to use compression when unable to create a vacuum to extract the liquid.
- one-way valve that prevents air from entering the teat.
- Variable and easily controllable milk flow that adjusts to the baby's abilities and efforts thanks to the slot valve mechanism. This valve makes the teat sensitive to any sucking effort and closes completely when the baby wants to stop.
- the line on the teat helps the carer find the correct position (three different flows).
- soft and delicate, it is sensitive to even the slightest sucking effort.
- available in standard and mini sizes. The Mini teat is intended for smaller or premature babies and is for hospital use only.
